Sabarmati Young Researcher Seminar - Dr. Aniket Dutt

Dr. Aniket Dutt

Dr. Aniket Dutt (Ph.D., University of North Texas, Denton USA) visited IIT Gandhinagar campus and delivered Sabarmati Young Researcher Seminar on “Friction Stir Processing of Beta Titanium Alloys: Challenges and Opportunities”. He spoke and interacted with students about how mechanical properties of beta-Ti alloys are sensitive to key microstructural parameters such as beta grain size, grain boundary alpha layer, and secondary alpha platelets. He illustrated the challenges faced during control of these parameters by conventional thermo-mechanical processing and elaborated on how friction stir processing (FSP) has evolved as a novel tool to create unique microstructures in structural metal alloys that could offer improved performance.

We are grateful to Dr. Dutt for visiting the campus and interacting with us. It was our sincere pleasure hosting him on the campus.
