Ph.D. students

We at Advanced Materials Processing Research Group, IIT Gandhinagar are actively looking for dedicated students/scholars who would share our interest and are excited to work in the broad areas of additive manufacturing, numerical modelling of materials processing, advanced processing and characterization, and materials welding/joining. Ph.D. students at IIT Gandhinagar get suitable research fellowships to cover monthly expenses and are encouraged to participate in various teaching and research activities.

M.Tech. students

Interested M.Tech. students from IIT Gandhinagar should approach Prof. Amit Arora to explore their Masters research projects. Students generally choose among the floated projects and kickstart their work taking guidance from the group members. Several of our M.Tech. alumni have either joined Ph.D. programs or are working in the industry.

GATE qualified M.Tech. students can receive fellowships at IIT Gandhinagar. Besides, the Early Admit M.Tech programme exists for final year B.Tech students from IITs, NITs etc. Selected candidates are also entitled to Director’s Fellowship.

Junior/Senior Research Fellowship

We recruit graduates and undergraduates as Junior/Senior Research Fellows, or as Research Associates for a dedicated component in our ongoing projects.

If you are a student of Materials Science / Metallurgy / Mechanical / Production Engineering or any other relevant discipline and wish to do an internship or final-year project, please approach Prof. Amit Arora.

IIT Gandhinagar has a Summer Research Internship Program (hyperlink: https://sites.iitgn.ac.in/srip/), which accepts applications during Jan-Feb every year. Fellowships are awarded to shortlisted students based on merit.
