ASM India 2019 - Masters Award

Anurag Gumaste, former graduate student of our group was conferred with Silver Medal in ASM India 2019 - Masters Award by ASM International India National Council, for his master’s research on ‘Friction Stir Surface Composites’. He received the honor on 19th October 2019, the 3rd Materials Day at Hotel President, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, in the august presence of Padma Vibhushan Dr. R. A. Mashelkar and Dr. Shekhar Mande (Director General, CSIR).

Anurag joined as an M.Tech student in our group in 2017. He is currently working on Friction stir surface composites using B4C as reinforcement in aluminum alloy matrix. He had a demonstrated history of working in the academic, industrial, and corporate sectors. With a strong background across diverse engineering fields and having acquired crossfunctional skills, he enjoys defining sustainable solutions to real-world engineering problems. He is also a badminton enthusiast and has played several university-level tournaments.
