Dr. Suvranshu completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela in December 2024, following which he joined IIT Gandhinagar as a National Post Doctoral Fellow (NPDF). His doctoral work involved extensive hands-on research in metal additive manufacturing using electric arc as the power source. He focused on mitigating anisotropy in additively manufactured components and enhancing the osteointegration capability of 316L stainless-steel orthopedic implants. In addition, he developed advanced high-strength steels through additive manufacturing routes, achieving excellent mechanical performance. For his outstanding research contributions, Dr. Suvranshu was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Ph.D. Thesis and recognized as the Best Research Scholar for the academic year 2024–25 at NIT Rourkela. He also received a project grant from The Institution of Engineers (India) for the development of a low-cost metal 3D printing setup. At AMPRG, his current research spans solid-state additive manufacturing, particularly friction stir processing. He is also engaged in developing tuneable alloys and metal-matrix composites tailored for site-specific functional requirements.
